LCJ wins 2007 Microsoft Vendor Program Excellence Award for Service

LCJ’s ongoing reputation as a localization partner of excellence received further affirmation recently when, with its partners CrossGap s.r.l., Locatech GmbH, Jonckers Translation and Engineering sa (Belgium), and Logoscript S.L., won the prestigious 2007 Microsoft Vendor Program Excellence award for Service. CrossGap is a founding member of LCJ, a European Economic Interest Group formed in 1999 to provide worldwide localization services to global businesses.

Despite fierce competition from 15,000 vendors, a panel of Microsoft executives selected LCJ and its partners for providing outstanding services and results, following nomination by Microsoft employees using criteria such as value, quality, flexibility, innovation, security and privacy.

A record year of success for CrossGap

Global projects increase CrossGap’s annual turnover to nearly 6m USD

LCJ completes Localization of 2007 Microsoft Office into French, German and Italian

High volumes and tight deadlines mastered easily by LCJ’s proven methodologies and processes

Dortmund, Germany – 11/30/2006 –LCJ EEIG, one of only four Microsoft Premier Vendors performing product localization for Microsoft Corporation, today announced that it has completed the localization into French, German and Italian of the 2007 Microsoft Office system in readiness for its global release in early 2007. This achievement demonstrates LCJ’s success in conducting high-profile, large-scale international localization projects.

Matthias Caesar, Managing Director at LCJ, said, "We are delighted to have had this prestigious opportunity. The 2007 Microsoft Office system, the latest release of the well known desktop productivity software, and its localization is one of the most visible projects of its kind."

LCJ’s commitment to the project included 23 full time internal resources for 13 months, 10 additional internal resources available as required over the same period and up to 161 translators and subcontractors at any one time.

"The key challenge was completing the high volume of work within the required timeline," said Igor Kupecek, Global Office Project Manager at LCJ. "This demanded meticulous planning that choreographed targeted recruitment and training, to guarantee the availability of appropriately skilled staff, with effective project management, to ensure successful execution."

Kupecek summarized, "We succeeded because of the following factors: our early collaboration with Microsoft to prepare the project, the experience and expertise of our internal teams, and the seamless support of our flexible methodologies and processes that are specifically designed for large projects. LCJ essential player in Microsoft Windows Vista Localization

LCJ delivers 650.000 words per month and language to realize early Vista release date

Dortmund, Germany – 07/03/2006 – LCJ, a provider of multilingual translation and turnkey localization solutions for local and global projects, today announced that it has played a significant role in preparing Microsoft Windows Vista for its worldwide release on January 30 2007. This achievement highlights LCJ’s leadership in international localization.

Marc Jonckers, Strategic Officer at LCJ, said, "LCJ EEIG was founded in 1999 and, in 2002, became one of only four Microsoft Premier Vendors worldwide performing product localization for the Microsoft Corporation. In this capacity, LCJ has made a considerable contribution to Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft’s new operating system, by localizing it into 11 languages."

Matthias Caesar, General Manager at LCJ, stated, "In order to deliver the localization of Vista to Microsoft, we deployed a full-time team that included 27 project managers, project engineers and language specialists. This pool managed the work of 212 translators and subcontractors, who accessed product betas via LCJ’s secure extranet."

"A key challenge was meeting Microsoft’s ambitious schedules," said Caesar. "Using our proprietary workflow automation tools to manage processes and communications, including thousands of linguistic and technical queries, we delivered an output of 100,000 software words per language every eight working days for six months, rising to one million words per month during the summer period."

CrossGap Signs Master Agreement with SAP

CrossGap delivers embedded localization to establish long term partnership.

Bologna, Italy – July, 3, 2006 – CrossGap, a provider of multilingual translation and localization turnkey solutions for local and global projects, has signed a master agreement with SAP AG to supply Italian localization services. This comprehensive contract with SAP, a world leading independent provider in enterprise applications and business solutions, emphasizes CrossGap’s position as Italy’s foremost localization provider and as a leading player in the international localization market.

"The mutual objective of this agreement with SAP is to establish a long term business relationship with increasing volumes of collaboration," said Michaela Schmelzer, Managing Director at CrossGap. "For the time being the scope of our work includes the localization of software, online help and documentation, and we are looking forward to extending it to SAP marketing materials, business collateral and e-learning solutions in the future."

CrossGap’s initial effort has been the localization of a SAP flagship ERP application suite. “To meet SAP’s requirement for a stable supply chain, our staff was integrated directly into the SAP production process," explained Tasselli, "Our key goal is to contribute proactively to SAP’s efforts to maximize localization efficiency, throughput and output, by researching innovative solutions together with the Customer in an open partnership."

CrossGap moves to larger HQ to facilitate strategic growth

John Siepers joins CrossGap as International Sales Manager
